Overview
Data protection often feels invisible — until something goes wrong. A misplaced file, an email sent to the wrong person, an unsecured record, or a moment of carelessness can quickly become a serious issue for any organisation. That was the starting point for this project. The client needed more than a standard compliance course. They wanted their team to understand that data protection is not just the responsibility of an IT department or a policy document. It is part of everyday behaviour.
What We Designed
Every employee who handles information plays a role in protecting customers, colleagues, and the organisation itself.
Wow Solution approached the course as a behaviour-change learning experience. The goal was not to make learners memorise regulations, but to help them recognise real risks and make better decisions in daily work.
The course was designed around practical workplace moments: opening emails, sharing files, storing records, discussing personal information, using devices, and responding to potential data incidents.

Learning Design Approach
Through interactive screens, clear explanations, scenario-based questions, knowledge checks, and certification, learners were guided through the choices that protect data — and the small mistakes that can expose it. The learning design was influenced by Cognitive Load Theory, which is especially useful when a topic involves rules, responsibilities, and complex information.
Our Learning Solution
By combining scenario-based interactions, practical examples, visual learning elements, and assessment-driven activities, the course encouraged learners to connect data protection principles directly to their everyday responsibilities.
Using a combination of e-learning authoring tools, Wow Solutions developed a polished course experience supported by quizzes, assessments, and certification. The solution provided the client with a structured way to increase awareness, monitor completion, and strengthen accountability across the organisation.
The Outcomes
Instead of overwhelming learners with dense legal language, the course broke the subject into focused, manageable sections supported by examples and decision-based activities. The result was a cleaner, more practical, and more engaging data protection learning experience. Learners could see how the training connected directly to their roles, while the organisation gained a structured way to build awareness, track completion, and strengthen accountability.
