Overview
The client came to Wow Solutions with a persistent problem: employees across office, warehouse, and industrial settings were experiencing musculoskeletal complaints — sore backs, stiff necks, and wrist pain — not from single accidents, but from the slow accumulation of poor daily habits. Compliance-based training had been delivered before, but it hadn't changed behaviour. The client needed something that would help staff understand why their body was hurting, and feel genuinely equipped to do something about it.
What We Designed
Wow Solutions developed a four-lesson interactive digital learning experience titled "Ergonomics Essentials: Preventing Workplace Injuries Through Smart Manual Handling." The course used key terms flashcards, expandable risk factor panels, tabbed anatomy breakdowns, step-by-step guided processes, side-by-side visual comparisons of poor and optimal workstation setups, and scenario-based knowledge checks embedded throughout — building understanding progressively before reinforcing it in a six-question final quiz.

Learning Design Approach
Experiential Learning Theory was applied throughout, grounding every concept in realistic workplace scenarios. Learners were invited to reflect on their own habits — a sore back after lifting, a stiff neck from a badly positioned monitor — before being walked through the underlying causes and corrective techniques. This reflection-then-application cycle was repeated across all three content lessons, ensuring knowledge was contextualised rather than abstract.

Our Learning Solution
Interactive flashcards, expandable accordion panels covering the four key risk factors (awkward postures, forceful exertions, repetitive movements, and duration), anatomy tabs exploring muscles, spine, and joints, step-by-step guided processes for recognising warning signs and adapting handling techniques, workstation optimisation comparisons, posture habit-building steps, and a six-question summative quiz covering recognition, technique application, matching, and fill-in-the-blank formats.

The Outcomes
Improved understanding of cumulative injury risk, stronger application of safe lifting and carrying techniques, and measurable behaviour change around workstation setup and microbreak habits.
